I keep reading about people being scamed on Olin Ross speakers.  My situation was the same as most (white van, shady guys) with the exception of actually getting the receiver, 5 sourround speakers, remote, wall mounts, and speaker wire.  I only paid $300 for the entire set and it actually sounds good and works.  Not sure if I got the real deal or a knock off.  Is there anyway to identify a phony from a real Olin Ross Surrond Sound?

hey everyone! just be happy about this...my husband got this scam in home depot parking lot and when he told me what he bought, i was very suspicious!! i googled it and found out it was a scam.

well, my husbands pride was so hurt that he hunted the mfers down and the beat the shit out of him and his girlfriend backed their vehicle up against my husband and their vehicle door broke off!! the cops went after them and my husband is ok!! he was happy with that. but he forgot to get the $300 back!!!!!!!! haha..pride come first!

My buddy got taken for six pairs two years ago here in Boise. Sorry you guys got screwed but maybe the police can track these guys on ebay?

Hey dbo the same exact guys got me too for 180 black hummer H2 maybe H3 with arizona plates. They had a pretty convincing story though. These guys need to be taken down though. Get back to me and tell me if you hear anything on it.

So I just had this happen in the QFC parking lot in Factoria, WA.  I took down their info though (this time), Black H2 Hummer with Arizona Plates, #115-YSH.  I just filed a report with the Bellevue police so we'll see what happens.

Ok followed up with police and contacted most of the area agencies and attorney General in WA. FYI and if you have acesses to run down plate numbers and take matters in your hands, they are operating out of a distrubution center in tukwilla wa, the plates on the Black Excursion SUV are B5448F Wa, good luck

Well i got scamed too but......, i called the police a few hrs later after searching the web on this. What i have now is their finger prints on the box, will be given to ploice, they are driving Black Ford SUV, licence number begins B544... (WA), i have (or the bank) video recording of him standing behind me at the ATM and maybe also a viedo recording from the store parking lot where i was approached. 2 white males in late 20's. They screwed up this time.

My hubby was just scammed by these guys, too.  I kept telling him not to believe the line of crap they were telling us, but typical male thought he was getting such a "once in a lifetime deal!" - Once in a lifetime ripping off!  As for quality, let me just say this - I have bought speakers twice in my lifetime - both times I bought the cheapest set from Walmart and I was just thrilled with them - they sounded absolutely fine to me.  These Olin Ross, however, sounded awful.  Not even usable.  The sound oscillated up and down - loud, then not audible with some strange static sound continuous in the background.  Hubby is constantly looking around for their van - I sure hope he finds it as those two won't be scamming around here anymore ;)

9-4-08  I was just hustled by this same scam.  White van with a couple systems in them saying they had an extra on the truck that didn't get counted for in the distribution center.  Two white guys saying they were delivery guys for this company.  I even said to the two of them that I never do this because things that good are usually too good to be true.  Never a more true saying.  Got me for $500.  Just called the Tweeter stores and said "sounds like a back of the van" product.  Be aware!
